What Remains?

What Remains?

What’s even left if you take away the fear?

A lot actually.

Love, for starters. But also joy, and peace. Patience. Kindness, goodness, and gentleness. Self control. Actually, if you let the love in, there is no more fear. Love is enough. Love is all.

If you can’t let go of fear, don’t worry. Love will pull it off, cast it away.

But that sounds scary. We need our fear, there are things to be afraid of!

Are there? Once love is here, we don’t need the fear that was our protection. A poor shield indeed.

Take away fear over my dead body! If that’s what it takes, yes. Our bodies will eventually die. But love doesn’t stop there. We can hold onto your fear all the way to the grave. Love is still there in the other side. Love remains. Love never fails.

When I say love, I do mean God.

Love is patient, love is kind. Love believes all, love hopes all, love never fails.

Love runs to meet us. Love doesn’t need our rehearsed statements, our reasoned positions. Loves see us a long way off. Love wants us to be loved.
